Heather Ross, born in New York, was raised and now resides in Vancouver, B.C. She studied painting, printmaking and ceramics at Capilano College and Emily Carr College of Art & Design & introductory studies in architectural & interior design at UCLA. In her early twenties Heather created her own company of hand printed textiles for interiors, which included a poetic line of hand painted linens & accessories which sold in finer stores across Canada. In 1994 Heather moved to Paris, where she designed for a French textile house. It was at this time she discovered her source for décor & antique fabrics in the brocante markets, which led to the luxurious collection of pillows she continues to create today. Upon her return in 1996, her keen eye for photography was noted by an art director, and she began shooting professionally, bringing all of her creative experience, design sense and travels together in the stories she began producing for lifestyle magazines. In 2001 she decided to open her own gallery boutique, Heather Ross [in house] Heather continues to travel regularly on buying trips and assignments to Europe, and to visit with her sister who lives in the Italian countryside. She loves to write, garden, cook, and to search for treasures not just in flea markets, but also along the shorelines and forest floors. Her next dream is to create a book…… |
